ABOUT ME
I’ve been a freelance illustrator for many years and have had the great fortune of being able to make my passion into a career.
My work ranges from detailed illustrations of animals, plants and the natural world to my Scandinavian-inspired Christmas and winter scenes influenced by my Swedish heritage, as well as illustrations for children’s educational books and decorative illustration. I enjoy exploring different subjects and styles while maintaining a strong foundation in traditional hand-drawn techniques.
Whether I’m painting wildlife, creating my Scandinavian Christmas designs or a children’s illustration, I continue to be inspired by the beauty of nature, storytelling, and the details that bring them to life.
I love the variety that this brings as I can find myself painting detailed realistic animal and plants one day and the next day I might be lost in my whimsical world of snow and ice, painting winter scenes and the characters that live there.
I’ve illustrated over 25 books and many other varying projects and sitting at my drawing board with brush in hand, a palette full of paint, starting a new project, still fills me with the same joy every time.
My Swedish upbringing gave me my love of wildlife, forests, dark starry skies, snowy winter wonderland scenery and the nordic landscape in general, which continues to inspire me with new ideas.
I always loved drawing as a child and this passion continued through my life. I studied graphic design in Devon and then continued to study pure illustration in Falmouth, which opened up a whole new world for me and where my career in illustration began.
I’m based in South Somerset and when I’m not painting, I love spending time on the coast, which has filled me with inspiration for future sea themed designs!
